Math Interventionist

Da ‘Meisha Fleming is a dynamic educator. Ms. Fleming has served in Indianapolis Public Schools for over six years teaching grades first through fifth. In 2022, Ms. Fleming was awarded Indianapolis Public Schools Teacher of the Year. Ms. Fleming has a heart for students and families that extends beyond the classroom. In addition to being Teacher of the Year, she was also awarded the WISH-TV 8 Golden Apple Award and Golden Apple Award Finalist. Ms. Fleming believes that fostering healthy relationships with students and families allows scholars to soar in their learning. “Students enter our classrooms with a wealth of knowledge, it’s our job to tap into it and enrich their learning experiences.” Says, Fleming. While teaching is her passion, Ms. Fleming has coached several athletics, tutored, and served in numerous leadership roles such as mentoring prospective educators. Currently, Ms. Fleming is a Math Interventionist for Collaborative for Equitable and Inclusive STEM Learning (CEISL) at IUPUI. She is continuing her education at IUPUI in the Urban Educational Leadership/ Urban Principalship program.
